I say that title because we went on a road trip recently to Asheville, NC to meet up with our best friends Todd & Court.....and we had to stop 3 times before leaving Shelby County! and we decided "Next time.....an RV is the way to go.....I can lay P down in the back to change the diaper....no NEED to stop!" :)
Let me just tell you the story..... :)
We were so excited, we had entered the car, it was packed and ready to hit the road @ 7 am on the DOT! Slammed the doors shut, seat belted up and BAM - P had a blow out! ;) P & I go back in the house while B goes to get gas really fast. Poopy Diaper #1 is changed!
B gets back and we have TAKE 2! Slam the doors, seat belt up and we ACTUALLY get going! We get about 2 miles down the road, and BLAH a Root Toot Tootin' - I hear it! We stop in the Walgreens to change this DIAPER # 2! Stinky!!!
Take 3 from the Walgreen's parking lot! Shut the doors, seat belt up, and REALLY head out! We are ON OUR WAY! We are so excited!!! Exit 40ish on I40, I start smelling something.....I say "we must stop at the next exit" Exit 52 it is - Whiteville, TN. Not a busy exit, and one little lone country store called KoKo's Community Market! This is a MAJOR blow out! This has messed up all clothes!! Change of clothes it is! and about 30 wipes later.....P and I are digging in the back of the truck for his new change of traveling clothes, Daddy is getting all the dirty clothes Ziploc'd up so we don't stink out the whole ride and I all of a sudden see P waving out of the side of my vision.....now mind you P is only in his diaper......and he is waving at the biggest piece of machinery....
.a Sprayer Tractor! The farmer is waving back! :) It was the cutest thing!
We are still @ KoKo's Community Market.....we get P dressed back nice and now we are trying to make sure NOTHING fell out of the truck in the disaster and all of a sudden this Maxima car comes barreling in (I am sure this is their every morning ritual)....it has 4 large black men in it.....P is waving up a storm and THEY ALL ARE WAVING back at him!
P was the center of attention at KoKo's Community Market that day.... ;)
We hit the road again for a pretty uneventful trip.... WHEW!!!
But I will say, I laughed A LOT!! so, I did keep the humor in all of it!!!
FINALLY we get there that afternoon and meet up with Court & Todd and have the BEST vacation!!! ......

This was the porch at the cabin! AWESOME! and P could "roller skate" in his 1970s walker ALL around! He LOVED IT! He loved the leaves and the acorns and most of ALL Monroe!!! :)

That look just cracked me up!!! HA! "whatch' you talkin' about Willis?" :)

Clapping!

Saturday, we had tickets to the
Brewgrass Festival! We didn't know what we were in for, but it was so much fun! Beautiful Weather....cool at first and warmer in the afternoon! P did GREAT! He was able to crawl around on the ground and I front packed him around some and he even slept in his stroller! Such a Trooper!!! :)

His Oktoberfest - Baumeister Style shirt from Aunt Jenn & Uncle Jason!!! He was a hit!!!

Look at my sun hat! ;)

the peeps....

Bless Toddy - His little forehead was burning so he borrowed one of P's burp cloths to cover up a bit! :)

and while Court, P & I were waiting on Todd & B to run into the grocery we saw this little truck! Land Rover...old, cute and rustic looking! I want it!!!
and speaking of the grocery....Todd & B went EVERY DAY to the grocery but one! We made a joke and said they couldn't mess with the grocery run! ;)

P with his leaves on the porch!
Sunday we headed out a little ways to
Sky Top Orchard in Flat Rock, NC! It was a HUGE place with LOTS of people and you could pick your own apples! We even got a DELICIOUS apple pie for that nights dessert!!! :) Monroe even got to go and he had such a good time! He was the celebrity!! EVERYONE wanted to pet him! :) He was even called Mable one time because that certain little girl used to have a Mable that looked like Monroe! :)

We just picked a nice apple for P to "play" with.....we turned around and he had a WHOLE mouth full of apple, he had bitten it off himself....I just had to scoop out the excess and B took his knife and cut him little pieces for the rest of the walk! :) He LOVED it!!!

This face cracks me up! :)

Isn't the view gorgeous!?

We just also bought us some apples to enjoy! Galas.... oh so good! ;)

P started playing Peek A Boo with this toboggan! He would pulled it down over his eyes and then pop it back up and giggle! When he had it pulled down he looked like the friend in Fat Albert! :)

We also enjoyed us LOTS of S'mores! Want Some'more? :)

Our new travel high chair! Money well spent! :)

FRIENDS!!! ;)

having a conversations!

The boys being gansta like! ;)
STORIES with no pictures:
****
P and I went for a walk one morning when we were up early! and it was a VERY narrow lane getting to and from the cabins. These construction workers came by and P was waving 2 handed at them! They were loving it and of course, waved back! :)

Monday, we headed out to Black Mountain, NC! It is the cutest little town with a yarn shop, jewelery shop, fudge shop, kitchen shop, Pizza place and an OLD Hardware Store, just to name a few. Cute little town, snug in the mountains. We piddled and went in and out of all the shops! Our last stop before we headed to the Highland Brewery was the hardware store! We walked in and it SMELLED of hardware! So very fun! I could have stayed in there for hours!
but all of a sudden I am walking back through to find Court, Todd & B and this guy looks at me and says "Hey, how are you?" and I was like "I am good.....you look soooo familiar.....Ryan??" and he says "Stacy?!" and I said "yes!" He was my Food Service Director when I was in my INTERNSHIP, 11 years ago in Paducah, KY! He was just out of school when he was my mentor! He is the one that made me come in at 2AM one morning to do stock! ;) He did say after I introduced him to everyone "I was that guy!" ha! He is living up there now, being a FSD for a hospital in that area! He is married and has 3 kids. 2 boys and a girl. Him and his little boys were up there at the hardware store just playing, he says that is what they do on days off! It was so funny and shocking to see him and us BOTH recognize each other.....It is SUCH a small world!

On Tuesday we all just went to downtown Asheville to piddle....P was once again, the "parade" magnet! He was waving at all the cars!!!
****
I LITERALLY did laundry EVERYDAY! Whew!!
****
Court and I did get to watch Dancing With The Stars with good glasses of wine!!! ;)
****
and I know this has nothing to do with our trip! but I wanted to tell about P screaming before he sneezes! He does this "Aaaaaaaaaah!" and then stops and then sneezes! It is like "WHAT IS ABOUT TO HAPPEN?!?!! Oh! Ok, that is fine!" HA! Court & Todd did get to see that! So very funny! It makes me laugh just writing this!!! ;)
We had SUCH a great time and hated for our time to end! We are so thankful for Court & Todd and their friendship! We just hope we didn't run them off! We said they would be barking a tire trying to get away from us on Wednesday morning! ;)
We love you guys so much!!!
