B & I, this past weekend, kind of, spontaneously, at the last minute, decided to get away for our anniversary/last vacation before Baby B gets here (and since then I have heard it is called Babymoon several times! - I love it!) and while we were at it we were able to crash our friends, Todd & Court's mini vacation to the mountains too!
We headed to Asheville, NC!
B has never been on or driven through that side of TN or NC so we thought, what a great opportunity!! :)
What a great trip! On our drive back to Memphis we just kept saying randomly through our silence "what a great/tremendous trip/weekend!" No words can express how much fun we had!!! Great weather, best friends (and their fur kid), WONDERFUL FOOD and so many FUN things to do!! You can't beat it!!! :)
Thursday night we had an EXCELLENT meal in the Biltmore Village at Wayside Bar & Grill! DELISH! Recommend to anyone out that way! It is in the old train depot and the train comes through RIGHT behind it!
Friday, B & I got up and started our day with an SUPERB breakfast (can you tell I have enjoyed the food so far?) @ Early Girl Eatery!!! Again, highly recommended by us! Afterward we went and saw Grove Park Inn. Dr. Grove also lived in Paris for a while. My middle school was Grove Middle School, named after him! (I'll see if I can hunt up a picture of that, I know I have one!) it was gorgeous though! LOTS of stone work and WHAT A VIEW out his back door! :)
Then we headed to The Biltmore!! AMAZING! Incredible, really! I told B "this doesn't even seem real", like HOW COULD ANYONE live in something that big, you know? and we THOUGHT that the Grove Park Inn had a view. Nope! It didn't hold a LIGHT to The Biltmore's view! :) it was a gorgeous day! they had all the windows open and the breeze coming through was amazing!! I was just totally bummed I couldn't take a SINGLE picture inside the house! but I got over it and enjoyed our audio tour probably MORE because I wasn't trying to take the BEST picture!! :)
Friday night, Todd & Court & Monroe arrived after a HORRIBLE traffic trip (I'm so sorry guys!) and we went and had ANOTHER delicious meal at Lexington Ave Brewery (LAB)! and enjoyed the rest of the night VISITING at the cabin in the woods on a VERY STEEP HILL! ;)
Saturday we got up and went to a Pumpkin patch.Hickory Nut Gap Farms! So much fun!! and then to Downtown Asheville to shop and enjoy the beautiful weather!!! While there, Court & I stopped by The CupCake Corner. I had a Guinness Cupcake! TO DIE FOR! So moist and dense!!! YUMMY! Court got a pic of me enjoying! ;)
We have to say.....The people of Asheville are a) interesting drivers, they WILL just pull out in front of you when you are ON them, wave like "Oh, I am sorry" and KEEP GOING, all while running a red light! and b) entertaining people. They are so hippy and I LOVE IT! :) I need a little snort of what they are smokin' to make myself calmer! ha!!!

Sunday we all drove through the Blue Ridge Parkway to Gatlinburg! What a STUNNING drive!!!!
Then we had to leave them to come back! :( It was sad and of course I cried! I tried to wait until I got away from them, but I didn't do such a great job! :)
It was an outstanding vacation! That is all I can say. Period! Enough said! ;)
