Thankfulness....

This last Saturday (5/14/2011) we got very sad news. Mamaw had passed away. Even though you hate to let them go, you know they are in a MUCH better place. And as I keep saying, "She is up there in a corner reading when her and MeeMaw aren't visiting" Mamaw LOVED to read, and unfortunately later in life she had macular degeneration that kept her from doing what she loved to do!
A sweet sweet lady has now made her way into heaven. I miss her dearly already. But I'm so thankful to know she is happy, safe and peaceful!
I'll always remember that she made the best breakfast rice in the WORLD!, that she made me laugh telling stories about Granddaddy and that she always let us do whatever we wanted as long as we asked "our Mom or Dad" first. :)

I have just been beating myself up one side and then down the other because she never got to meet Pierce. But I know and I try to comfort myself in knowing that she is watching him everyday and getting to enjoy him just the same.
The funeral was very touching, the day had beautiful weather and seeing family that I haven't seen in years was wonderful.

I love you dearly Mamaw.

The Hospitality Committee of Ruleville Baptist Church had us a meal before the funeral! It was so incredibly nice AND delicious. It was comforting to know Mamaw had such good friends.

Let ME hold it!

The past few weeks P has been grabbing for the bottle and popping it into his mouth himself when it is feeding time. This past weekend Granddaddy P was showing him how to move his hands down the bottle so he could hold it better.
Well, lo and behold this morning (at about 3am, and yes, I am writing this at 330 am, because I get a lot done between 3 and 5 am! :) ha!) he puts his hands down the bottle and he holds it!...... I mean for about 30 seconds, but you gotta start somewhere right?
;)

Beautiful night...

Tonight, while laundry needed to be done, dust needed to be dusted, carpets needed to be vacuumed, a certain kitty needed to be Fur-M-nated, I decided "Phew! Why does that need to be done?", and sat on the deck with Pierce in my lap and enjoyed the crisp breeze, the smell of fresh mowed grass (we happened to be watching Brian do that at the time! :) ha!), the fight and buzz of hummingbirds, the smell of marigolds and the sweet quietness of a 5 month old that decided to not be a "squirm-a-worm" tonight.
I am full with happiness. So truly blessed. And so very thankful.

Meet the Mayor....

MJ has nicknamed P, "The Mayor of Beartown" (her street name), due to the fact of when they go strolling on the street in the 6 seated stroller, he is waving, greeting and smiling at everyone they pass! ;)

He has the key to everyone's heart & the street of Beartown! ;)

Happy Mother's Day!

My day started out with French Toast with Nutella in bed! YUMMY! along with a BEAUTIFUL orchid that Pierce & Brian picked out together! :) and then the rest of the day was just relaxing and enjoying one another! All day it was weird to think "I am a Momma!" So strange but so nice! :)
Brian & I both got to talk to our Moms several times that day, wishing we could be with them!
I know that I am so very thankful for my Mom! I have no idea what I would do with out her! She is my best friend!
Thank you Mom for all you do for me (and Brian & Pierce)! Again, I am so thankful for you and love you so very much!!!

Addy Turns 2!!

Miss Addy turns 2!!! and this was P's second birthday party to attend!!!
She had an Abby Party!
The minute we walked in the door she ran up to us and said "Baby Pierce"!
I wish there was a way for you to HEAR how she says it over the blog! So cute!!!
I asked P if his cheeks hurt while we were there, because he didn't QUIT smiling at Addy!
At least we KNOW he loves MJ's and all the little girls "taking care" of him there!!!
Her parents are super nice too! Brian & I enjoyed getting to know them better!
