Just a fun relaxing weekend of pool side happiness, visiting with friends happiness and the THANKFULNESS for air conditioning! :)

Skinny Dipping!!

Our first bite of Avocado! I don't think we will make him eat it any more, he NEVER got better than this face the whole time. We will try again, but for 2 days he hated it really! :)

Then Sunday we got to go down to Senatobia, MS to see our very best friends Court & Todd while they were in town! The time went by WAY to fast and of course there were tears shed when we had to leave! We love you guys!!

New Generation meets Old Generation

Last night we went on our weekly journey to Wal-Mart (very dreaded on our part) for formula and this & thats. We pick our line to check out. P was getting kind of tired, as it was almost his bed time. So, I pick him up out of the cart and start to just walk/bounce him around. I immediately spot a little elderly lady sitting on the bench in the front waiting on her party. I say to B, "you will find me by the sweet little lady up front" (like he didn't know that I would gravitate to the little older people = I just love them!) We walk up to her and she pats the seat to sit by her. So, P & I plop down.
She is precious. She is wearing a silky white long sleeved blouse with black polka dots on it, black slacks, she is holding a cane and to make the whole outfit she is wearing a black golfer type hat with sequins on it! Precious let me tell you!
She first off tells P how pretty he is. (I still think @ 7 months old you can call him pretty!) and she pats his feet and she says "Oh his feet are cold" and I said "do you know his hands and feet stay that way? and my MeeMaw used to say 'Cold Hands means Warm Heart', so that is a good thing right?" and she said "and Cold Feet means he is a Sweetheart!" I had never heard that saying but I loved it!
She then proceeds to say, "I bet I am older than your Grandmother" I said "if you don't mind me asking, how old are you? because you look GREAT!" (and she really did!) She said "I will be 96 in August!" and I said "what day? because mine is August 29th" and she told me it was the 3rd! I again told her she looked wonderful! and she was back on Pierce saying "you are a cute red head!" :) I didn't correct her, because honestly I think his little hair has some red in it! but I thought it was fun to see what others see in him!
B then came to pick us up to leave. She patted P again and we said our farewells.
But I had such a swollen happy heart. The older people are such good people! I will be very sad when that generation is gone, because they put such a wonderful light on life!
I prayed for her last night. She has been in my mind this morning!
I just wish P could remember meeting her.....

Independance Daaaaaaaaay!

for the title of this blog post, I am in true Martina McBride form and belting it out!! ;)
For the 4th, we had company! B's parents! We had a really good time, just relaxing and enjoying one another company!

A donut I hope! I had the new Ultimate Donut Cake Pan by Avon and wanted to try it out!
I filled it with the MOST delicious Lemon Cake, all Thanks to Court for the recipe!
and I thought it looked JUST like a glazed donut! :)

We all went to Faith Baptist Church fireworks display! B & I think they are the best in town! P did AWESOME! He & I had to go to the car, but after we got in there, we watched through the windshield and had the best time together!

Accomplishments!

• He is crawling up a storm! Army crawling! So cute!
• He is STILL loving his food! Green beans, peas, carrots, squash.... meat to come soon!!
• He is STILL a Smiley Wiley!
• He is so very good and calm and INTERESTED in everything!
• His hair is blonder and blonder every day!
• He has gotten in the BIG pool for the first time! HE LOVES WATER!!!
• He is well aware when he is in trouble!
• He is well aware of how to get Mommy & Daddy's attention! ;)
• He is still talking up a storm too! New sounds all the time.... "GaGa, DaDa, MaMa"...zerbert noises and the Indian Chant! :)
• He is grabbing at everything!
  
• EVERYTHING is still going in his mouth!
• He is WELL AWARE of Sophie! and LOVES her, just smiles and smiles at her! (She is still very unsure!)
• He LOVES to go on stroller walks! I think he goes on about 3 with Mary Jane during the day and then Mommy & Daddy take him after we all have dinner! :)
  
• HE LOVES OUTSIDE! period.
• His eyes are darker blue than I would have thought, due to Daddy, Uncle Jason, Uncle John and GrandMom B having such light pretty blue eyes!
  
• He loves his bed! He is very comfortable there!
• He still likes to put a burp cloth over his eyes to go to sleep! Funny, but it works!
• He is very interested in people, I hope we don't hit that 9 month "scared of everyone" stage that everyone keeps telling me about! P is gonna be different! ;) Mr. Friendly! I mean, he is the Mayor of Beartown!!
  
• - Again, I know there is so much more.....but these are just a few!
  

Pierce, we both, love you so very much! and we are having a blast watching you grow and learn!

Hussle & Bussle!

This past weekend, we headed to Paris for us to visit, have a "Sprinkle", celebrate Father's Day and SWIM until we were prunes! I just really stunk at getting pictures! but here are a few!

John & Dana planted some Sunflowers and this was one of their results! So pretty!!

P getting in the water for the 1st time! He is already getting excited as you can see! He couldn't wait to get in! He seriously LOVES the water! I do hope that continues! We were in there for almost 3 hours! Daddy had heated the pool and it was great! When you got out it was actually kind of chilly!

As for the "Sprinkle!".......
Instead of a "Shower" for Amy, we gave her a "Sprinkle!" Just the four of us eating, laughing, talking, telling stories and enjoying one another company! It was really great to just be able to relax with one another! We haven't been able to do that in over a year! and I feel like such a bad friend because I didn't get any more pictures than the ones below! Can you tell we had enough food to feed 40 people rather than just 4!? :)

Wednesday Lisa had us over to her house for a HouseWarming party! She is a NEW HOME OWNER! It was just all the girls from University! Elle was the center of attention! and of course we all loved her! We had such a good time! :)

Lisa's Banana Split Cupcakes......Strawberry cake with marshmellow creme filling, Banana icing, chocolate, caramel, pecans and a cherry on top!

Zoo Membership + 1!!

Saturday afternoon late, we went and got us a Memphis Zoo membership! + 1 for a Grandparent, Uncle, Aunt or Friend to accompany us for free! It was warm, but there was a breeze, so it did make it tolerable. We didn't see everything, we just went through the monkeys to the Polar Bears! with a pit stop through their "Birds & Bees" exhibit! I think we will really be getting great use out of this! P was entertained with the people JUST as much as the animals!
